Upper Potomac Dulcimer Fest was started in 1988 to bring together some of the finest dulcimer players in the United States for workshops, classes, concerts, jam sessions and more.
Located in a small town in West Virginia, USA, the festival's intimacy provides an excellent learning atmosphere. It is an hour away from Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland and is now held in a rustic, turn-of-the-century resort hotel.
Two hammered dulcimer festivals are offered, one in March and one in September. A fiddle retreat, an Irish music weekend and other weekends are also on the schedule of events produced by this organization. See the web page for more details at www.dulcimerfest.org.

Chris Bradley is a UK based Cimbalom player. He is currently the principal percussionist with the English Northern Philharmonia, the acclaimed orchestra of Opera North.

The cimbalom virtuoso, soloist in the Hungarian Opera and Broadcasting Company, Viktória Herencsár was born in Budapest and began studying the cimbalom (hammered dulcimer) at the age of three. A pupil of Ida Tarjáni Tóth, she graduated with honours from the Liszt Ferenc National Conservatory of Music in Budapest in 1973. This fervent ambassador of the Hungarian hammered dulcimer appears in concerts of classical and popular music throughout the world, both as a soloist and with large symphony and chamber orchestras (Berliner Simphonie,, Hessischer rundfunk, Spanian National Symphony, Barcelona Symphony, Dresdener Philharmony, Radio-Símphony of Stockholm, Kempens Symphony, Würtzburger Philharmony, Philharmony of Stuttgart, RAI Symphony, etc.)
In addition, she gives lectures on the history, the repertory and the teaching of the cimbalom, and was appointed president of the first World Congress of the hammered dulcimer (Hungary, 1991.) Till 1997 she was the cimbalom professor in the "Szent István király" Music school an Conservatory of Music in Budapest (Hungary). Since 1997 she is cimbalom professor in the Music Departmant of the Academy of Culture in Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) and in the International Music Camp in Balassagyarmat (Hungary).

She is president of the Cimbalom World Association since 1991. More television and broadcasting companies made with her recording. She was honoured with "Nivo" prize of the Broadcasting Company (1983), and the "Artisjus" prize for the interpretation of the Hungarian music (1996)

Alice Freeman is a hammered dulcimer player and harpist based in southern Wyoming (USA). She is a student of Steve Eulberg from Fort Collins, Colorado.

The Cimbalom World Association (CWA) aims to bring together artists who play cimbalom and similar instruments like yangqin, santur, hackbrett, hammered dulcimer, tympanon, qanun, kantele, etc. as well as interested organisations and individuals.
