7th World Cimbalom Congress -- Day -3: Before the Congress
Munich, Linderhof, Oberamagau, Neuswanstein
Some marimba discussion with Alex Jacobowitz, Munich, Oberamagau, Neuswanstein2003-10-04 (Sat)
There is no direct flight from Tokyo to Munich. We opted to fly to Zurich. Junko eats "Ice Coffee" at the Zurich Airport.
Arrived at the hotel around 10:00pm. Eating suppuer with Alex. Alex and I were drinking Weissbier.
2003-10-05 (Sun)
Alex and Monica visited us and had two hours of marimba discussion at a ball room in Arabera Sheraton Grande. We discussed about various possibilities of new technics as well as Alex's new album. Again, I do not know why I have no picture of Monica...
It was very cold outside, and raining. Actually, we planned to do the above on the street so that other people can also join us, but it was way too cold...
The Residenz
Junko started to feel weak, so we took a cab to go back to the hotel.
Oktoberfest
Then, I tood a subway to go to the Oktoberfest.
The hotel washroom... Don't look!
We were staying the executive floor, so we could use the lounge. Free drink and snack. I wounder why I did not take any photo there as well... The hostess (26) at the lounge that morning was going to Oktoberfest that night. Amusingly, her ex-boyfriend was from London, Ontario, where I spent two years. Her father had a reserved box at the Oktoberfest. Her reason for going there was: "Well, I had enough of Oktoberfest, but since many important people are coming to my father's booth, it is important for my carieer."

Luckily, Junko recovered somewhat. Taking the Panorama bus tour to the Neuschwanstein castle.
Linderhof
Oberammergau
Oberammergau is the origin of the painted houses. Very pritty. Tourist shopping spot. Also, the town is famous for the Passion play.
Neuschwanstein
It was apparent that it snowed heavily yesterday. The ground was white on the way to Neuschwanstein.
A church near Neuschwanstein in German Baroque style with onion tower.
Taking lunch with a splendid view of Neuschwanstein Castle.
Outside, it was getting warmer now. I was very greatful.
Taking horse coach to the castle.
Outside the castle, we must wait until our entry time comes.
We could take bus instead of horse. If we did, then we were taken to this bridge, with the famous view of this castle.
... INSIDE THE CASLTE: PHOTOS NOT ALLOWED ...
I wish I could spend more time here... We had to run all the way down to the bottom of the hill to catch the bus!
After coming back to Munich, we had a walk to the Marien Plaz and on the way, I bought a coat. It was too cold after all...
We took the subway to the Sheraton Grande, then took a cab to Sheraton Airport. I did not want to move, but there was no room at the Grande. Real Estate and Golf convention were open as of Monday.

Munich Airport Hotel (Arabera Sheraton).
It was kind of funny that many people had a trouble in finding out the shuttle bus. I reserved 9:00am bus, but I also missed it, and the bell boy scolded me!
Off to Zurich!
