Contemporary Music Cimbalom Festival in Budapest

The Cimbalom World Association is organizing a Contemporary Music Cimbalom Festival with the support of theHungarian Ministry of Human Resources, Hungarian National Cultural Fund, Hungarian National Cooperation Fund and Budapest Rakosmente Municipality on September 6, 2025 in Budapest, at the 17th district Vigyázo Sandor Cultural Center (1173 Budapest, Pesti ut 113.).

The two concerts of the festival are at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and will include Hungarian and international compositions in various genres of contemporary music – classical, jazz, folk music, world music, etc. – with the participation of internationally renowned cimbalom artists: Andrea Stračinová (SK), Martin Budinský (SK), Marcel Comendant (MO), Daniel Skála (CZ), and from Hungary: Kálmán Balogh, Erzsébet Gódor, Viktória Herencsár, Balázs Unger and Ferenc Kovacs with trumpet, violin, vocals, Agatics Krunosłav Kico with accordion,  Stano Paluch (SK) with violin. Star guest is Li Lingling, professor at the Chinese Academy of Music in Beijing and vice president of the Cimbalom World Association performing on yangqing. 

The artistic director of the Festival is Viktoria Herencsar, president of the Cimbalom World Association and professor at the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica.

Books, sheet music, CDs and dulcimer accessories will be available for purchase at an exhibition before and between the concerts.
