CIMBALOM MASTERCLASS 28 November 2025
The Cimbalom World Association and the Folk Music Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music are organizing a cimbalom masterclass on 28th November 2025.
It will be held in Budapest at the Semmelweis Street building of the Academy of Music (12 Semmelweis Street, District V, Budapest, ground floor, Room I).
Masterclass leader: DÁNIEL SZABÓ, DLA, assistant professor, cimbalom teacher at the Folk Music Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.
Guest lecturers:
Prof. VIKTÓRIA HERENCSÁR, ArtD., president of the Cimbalom World Association, professor at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
Mgr. art Mykhaylo Zakhariya, ArtD. (UA–SK), teacher at the Conservatory in Košice.
Program of the masterclass:
10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Sound articulation techniques (playing techniques in different genres, tone colour, dynamics, striking technique, etc.) through own classical pieces.
- Languages: Hungarian, English, German, Slovak
- Lecturer: Prof. Viktória Herencsár, ArtD.
14:00 – 16:30: Introduction to Romanian folk music (rhythmic accompaniment, ornamentation, technical exercises, etc.)
- Language: English, Slovak, Russian
- Lecturer: Mgr. art Mykhaylo Zakhariya, ArtD.
Participation in the masterclass is free of charge and requires registration.
